Slow down. Take deep breaths. Sort rice for fun. Draw a doll house. Journal. Sing & dance. Self-pleasure.
The pattern of rushing is evident in how you do day-to-day things. Do you pee and eat “real quick?” How do you pack your stuff when you go places? Do you put everything meticulously in its place in a backpack or franticly carry it all in your hands? Do you have a place for every thing?
How do you go about your tasks? How many times do you just take a walk? How many times do you self-pleasure or take the time to just dream and doodle?
The most amazing things are only available to us when we slow down.
The things is, we want to do it, but we just don’t know how. Not only are we desperate for more slowness, but also organization, and peace.
How to Function
How can you listen to your inner voice when you are going at a thousand miles an hour? How can you remember to call an old friend when you’re always thinking about something?
The problem is, it’s never been emphasized how essential it is to slow down. The stamp of work hard has been squishing everything in its wake for the last 70 years.
Furthermore, we’ve forgotten to nuance of the Art of Living.
We are afraid we are going to miss something. We are afraid that if we don’t run fast enough, the thing we really want will evade us.
What we don’t realize is that we already have everything we need at our disposal, but we just need to slow down enough to see it.
Modern Society
As can be seen with the younger generation, speed does not equal happiness. Many of us look back longingly to times when videos were longer than 30 seconds and people had time to do their work and travel. Not everything was expected to be completed at the speed of light.
Humans need languid moments. We need to waste time. We need leisurely time, despite what society is telling us.
TikTok, constant connectivity, endless texting. Our brain weren’t meant for that. We need:
True relaxation. True connection. True enjoyment. True healing. True North Star.
Time with our friends. Good food that takes time to cook. True craft that is learned through generations.
Nonetheless, we can take the fruits of modern society and choose how to spend our time.

Water it, give it sunlight, but sure as hell don’t rush it.
Break from Technology
Technology is the opposite of slowing down. Moreover, you aren’t more powerful than the specifically designed algorithms meant to suck you in. Sometimes you just have to walk away. Turn your phone off. Do a little detox and disconnect.
The Practice of Mindfulness
A truly thoughtless stage is almost orgasmic. What helps me slow down my thoughts is focusing intently on what is around me and trying to eliminate inner dialogue.
The Practice of Gratefulness
What will really bring you into the moment is being grateful for what is around you. Express gratitude for the fresh air, the sun, the couch you are sitting on and the people you are with.
The Practice of Slowing Down
Believe that everything important will wait for you.
You won’t miss it by going slow. You might miss it by going to fast.
Do everything you always do, but 2x slower. Eat, walk, drink, pee, get up, write, think. Slowly.
Do it at the speed that allows you to do it well.
Slow down you crazy child
You’re so ambitious for a juvenile
